ANCIENT WALKERS
DESCRIPTION
The Ancient Walkers were a mysterious civilization that thrived more than 3,200 years ago, far surpassing the technological capabilities of modern humanity. Living in eight great settlements known as the Walker Cities, they used the iconic “AW” symbol to represent themselves and left behind remarkable artifacts that continue to puzzle researchers.
Among their greatest achievements were the enigmatic AVI-8 drones, the intricately crafted Prophecy Discs and the protective Time Capsules, which preserved their legacy deep underground. Distinct social groups — blue-robed figures thought to be teachers or diplomats, and red-robed Gatekeepers — played key roles in safeguarding this knowledge.
Their story seems to have ended with a devastating meteor shower, yet their heritage was rediscovered millennia later when a Time Capsule was unearthed in France by archaeology student Lily Cadieux. Today, their legacy endures through the artifacts left for future generations.

INVENTIONS
The Walkers created a number of groundbreaking inventions and discoveries that were centuries ahead of their time. Their authenticity was confirmed thanks to the determination of a modern researcher, widely known as #28300. Among their most remarkable achievements were:
-
AVI-8 drones — an engineering marvel, forged into metallic units resembling the “AW” symbol. X-ray scans have revealed that these mysterious castings contain traces of advanced technology whose purpose and function remain unknown. Researchers today are still attempting to understand and uncover a way to activate them.
-
Prophecy Discs — intricately crafted metal and wooden discs, decorated with ritual figures in robes and masks. The recurring “AW” symbol appears alongside depictions of drones and the number eight, often shown in various forms: eight drones, eight points on a map, eight stones. The discs appear to illustrate natural catastrophes — perhaps a record of the past, or a forewarning of the future. Only five have been discovered so far.
-
Time Capsules — rectangular metallic containers that held a variety of artifacts, such as prophecy discs, robes, and other objects. They served as protective vessels, buried deep beneath the earth, safe from the elements, to be unearthed and used by future generations.

SOCIAL GROUPS
We have little information regarding the governance of the Walker Cities. However, it is known that beyond the ordinary population, two distinctive groups existed:
-
Walkers in red robes — believed by some theories to have been the Gatekeepers, whose duty was to preserve and pass down the legacy of their civilization,
-
Walkers in blue robes — thought to be teachers or high-ranking diplomats, possibly superior in rank to the Gatekeepers.
This theory is supported by the scene depicted in the artwork Heading Home, where a Walker in blue robes appears to direct those in red. Ordinary citizens, according to other depictions, wore simple navy-blue clothing along with the iconic face masks and facial markings.

ANNIHILATION & DISCOVERIES
Sadly, it is believed that the story of the Ancient Walkers ended with a devastating meteor shower — an event that may have been foreseen by them, giving them time to prepare and secure their heritage. This theory is supported by one particular carving on a Prophecy Disc, showing a figure seated in a tree and gazing through a telescope.
Faced with imminent disaster, the Walkers are thought to have hidden their Time Capsules across the world. Just before impact, they may have sought shelter in underground sanctuaries, as portrayed in the artwork Heading Home.
The first tangible proof of their existence was a Time Capsule unearthed in France beneath a famous rock formation. It was discovered by Lily Cadieux, then a nineteen-year-old archaeology student.
At first, her theories were met with disbelief. Many historians refused to accept that the history books were incomplete. But when they saw the AW Monument and the Time Capsule with their own eyes, no other explanation could be offered. Archaeologists soon arrived in large numbers, and dating of the artifacts eventually confirmed Lily’s claims.
Thus, the legacy of the Ancient Walkers endures — preserved through the artifacts they deliberately left behind for future generations.
